In the future, WIRED magazine publishes its 5479896th volume with featured celebrity Vinnine, a popular dating guru who posts videos online giving advice to her viewers based on their stories. Vinnine was interviewed about a new VR dating app. She gave an overwhelmingly positive review for the app's super smooth facial expression tracking and sensitive pressure exertion. I made this piece because I hope that the future holds virtual reality that can accurately track bodily actions. This would enhance the human connections formed while online since reading facial expressions and body language are how people connect emotionally. A VR dating application would have the most up-to-date tracking technology because of the importance of body language in dating.
In the future, a planet is discovered where dreams and consciousness can be entered through a gateway. Dream dealing is now an occupation where certified dream dealers are allowed to enter dreams to manipulate them to be better or worse. I was inspired to create this piece after a nightmare where I was lost in space, suffocating while bright orbs floated around me. The orbs are the access point to somehow make nightmares end before they ever begin.
I started this piece around the election in 2020. At that time, there was a huge political divide splitting the country and its news sources (and the occasional family as well). Political discussion is necessary to democracy, but when people are simply parroting biased news sources and being willfully ignorant of the entire story, it becomes a never-ending food fight. I felt stifled by the sheer amount of people saying "if you think like this, you're wrong and you should be ashamed." I wish we could return to the peaceful political discussion instead of trying to prevent people from speaking about their opinions at all.
With a little bit of Photoshop, you too can fake your entire life! It's an easy skill to learn and boy will you look so much better for your internet stranger friends. I made this piece because with the advancement of new editing technology, it's easy to click a button and look skinnier, more fit, prettier. Seeing other people living their "best lives" on social media can make some people feel the need to fake it in order to be popular or fit in. This leads to not-so-great mental health. In the worst case, it can be self-destructive: slowly becoming uncaring about anything other than your internet persona.
Social media influences its users' mood without the users being fully aware. It may not be intentional, but teens are getting addicted to social media and rely on it to feel happy even if it causes great distress and self-loathing. The worst part is that the social media companies are perfectly aware of it. Facebook, or Meta now, has evidence that Instagram is the cause of 1 out of 3 teenage girls' low self-esteem but does nothing to change that. Still, even if users are aware that they are being affected, it's very difficult to unplug and address their mental states. Because of that, social media is like a cage that is constantly telling you to look, act, and feel a certain way.
In the future, people looking to make quick cash on the side turn to historical reenactment. People who wish to appreciate history from thousands of years ago will pay good money to "study the past" through strangers on the internet. Unfortunately, not many of these historical streamers have an accurate depiction of what happened and will often unknowingly include errors in their actions. I made this piece because I'm worried that we will lose historical traditions to time because no one will have the interest or patience to continue them accurately, and when we finally realize that we're losing the past, we won't have any way of getting it back.
Our hero arrives at Symphonia, a strange city where money is earned through fighting in a gladiator’s arena or investing in a champion. Our hero has nothing to invest so she has no choice but to battle her way to the top in Stadium Aberr. She will face challenging opponents and her wits will be tested every step of the way. Will she rise above the obstacles or give up? Play alongside our hero today and claim the championship cup in the next hit game Sequence: Unlimited!
A warning that perhaps, one-day cybercrime will be so rampant and normalized people can commit cyber crimes even during sleep. Even now, it's extremely easy to counterfeit digital products or pirate media for consumption. Identity theft has become easier with the addition of the internet, and cyber bullying happens every hour of the day. Most of these require some sort of human input to commit, but in the future, it may not even need that.
While Sequence: Unlimited players follow our hero through a storyline filled with twists and turns while challenging increasingly difficult opponents, civilians on Symphonia are surviving. Rine is an established song artist on Symphonia. She, like many others, is not at all involved in Stadium Aberr and, frankly, is thriving just fine without it. She gets the most inspiration for her music working on top of the roof of her apartment building. She was just dumped and is writing a song for her upcoming album i'm an emotional wreck in her favorite spot.
While investors, their benefactors, and the rich live lavishly on Symphonia, the rest of the world is left to live in relative poverty. Whenever a resident of Tsuna decides to compete in Stadium Symphonia for money or glory, the island members release lanterns in remembrance. Nobody has returned alive after leaving.
A loyal red panda sleeps atop his friend's house in the faerie forest. The bond between the two of them is deep and is difficult to break since both have saved each other from near death multiple times. I drew this based off an image taken at a zoo where a red panda was peacefully sleeping on a tree branch.
These are sketches I made based off pictures I took during a dance concert rehearsal. I took pictures of the dancer in motion, often in less than picturesque poses. However, dance to me is not about the grand poses and flourishes. I prefer to pay attention to when a dancer is in motion and has not quite completed a full dance move. That is when a dancer is able to show their level of control. Skilled dancers are mindful of what their body is doing every single second of a performance and even the supposedly less-than-perfect instances in between finishes are beautiful.
When a singer is done with a concert, sometimes they do a mic drop to emphasize that the wondrous experience is over. I drew this pointe ballerina at the end of her career after a satisfying journey through lows of money issues, injuries, and stress and highs of performing for packed theaters, dancing with friends, and throwing closing night parties. At the end of the day, this pointe ballerina decides to do her own mic drop to signify the end of career. She is sad that it's over, but glad that it happened.
